Raven ShadowIt was lying there on the edge of the path in the woods, just cawing pathetically. A rumpled mass of black feathers lying in a speckled patch of sunlight that the tree branches overhead had let through to reveal the raven. I found him while on a regular walk along the rarely used path that led through the dim woods. I often went into the woods to get away from everything and everyone and think. At the time I was thinking that the woods seemed quieter than usual, it was a warm day and usually I hear animals and cracking sticks in the distance but today I hardly heard a single animal stirring.
